The Generation Hope Scholar Program
Generation Hope is committed to empowering teen parents to achieve college and professional success and economic stability. We do this through our innovative Scholar Program.
We identified the two major obstacles to teen parents earning their college degrees:
- Lack of financial support
- Lack of emotional support
Our program builds these back into a teen parent's life by pairing each Scholar with a Sponsor who provides up to $2,400 per year in tuition assistance and one-on-one mentoring until the Scholar graduates. They are also provided with case management, trainings throughout the year on topics such as life balance and academic planning, free tutoring, career preparation, and an annual Hope Conference, which provides life and career skills from experts in the community. The Hope Conference also provides intensive college-readiness information to 20-25 expecting or parenting high school students. Thanks to the Scholar Program, teen parents are excelling academically.
